One of Prince Edward Island’s biggest fall events is returning this October, and downtown Charlottetown is basically turning into one massive outdoor market for the day.
Farm Day In The City returns on Sunday, October 4, 2026, bringing farmers, food producers, artisans, crafters and other local vendors into the heart of the city.
The free event is described by Discover Charlottetown as PEI’s biggest street festival and the Island’s largest outdoor market, with more than 150 vendors and exhibitors expected.
More Than 150 Vendors Are Taking Over Downtown
For one day, Farm Day In The City will take over lower Queen Street from Grafton Street to Water Street, along with Victoria Row and the area around Confederation Centre Plaza.
Visitors can wander through the streets shopping from local farmers, food producers, artisans and makers from across PEI.
So expect plenty of Island-grown food, handmade goods, local treats and fall finds all packed into downtown Charlottetown.
There’s A Petting Zoo, Live Music And Kids’ Activities
It’s also much more than a farmers market.
The day will include live entertainment, a petting zoo, agricultural displays and kids’ activities at the Cavendish Farms Kids Zone.
There will also be a beer garden and some friendly competitions happening throughout the event.
And the best part is that admission is completely free.
It’s Happening During Charlottetown’s Scarecrow Festival
Farm Day also lands right at the beginning of the Charlottetown Scarecrow Festival, which runs throughout October and fills downtown with hundreds of scarecrow displays and other fall activities.
That makes October 4 a pretty good excuse for a fall day trip to Charlottetown, especially if you want to shop local, eat your way through the market and explore the city while it’s decorated for fall.
