If walking through a dark forest filled with terrifying scenes sounds like your idea of a fun October night, one of Cape Breton’s biggest Halloween attractions is returning this fall.
Two Rivers Wildlife Park, located along the Mira River just outside Sydney, is bringing back its annual Fright Night for five nights in October 2026.
And this definitely isn’t your average walk through the woods.
Tourism Nova Scotia says the haunted trail features 25 scary scenes hidden throughout the dimly lit forest, creating a massive outdoor Halloween experience along the Mira River.
This year’s event is called Fright Night XXIV: The Cursed Carnival, with an abandoned carnival theme taking over the trail.
Fright Night Is Taking Over Two Rivers Wildlife Park
Two Rivers Wildlife Park is normally known for its animals, nature trails and huge outdoor property.
The community-run wildlife park sits on more than 500 acres and is home to over 50 species of native and non-native animals and birds.
But for several nights in October, the peaceful wildlife park gets a very different look.
Fright Night sends visitors along a haunted trail through the woods after dark, where they’ll encounter 25 scary scenes throughout the dimly lit forest.
For 2026, the park has transformed the attraction into The Cursed Carnival.
The park is teasing an abandoned carnival where the performers and visitors have mysteriously vanished, with the lights beginning to flicker back on as guests arrive.
There Are Five Fright Nights This October
You’ll have several chances to experience the haunted trail.

The gates open at 6 p.m., with trail times scheduled for 7 p.m., 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. each night.
Tickets are $20 per person and the event takes place rain or shine.
There’s Also A Kid-Friendly Family Day
If the regular Fright Night sounds a little too intense for younger visitors, Two Rivers is also planning a separate kid-friendly trail on Halloween Day, October 31.
Tourism Nova Scotia lists October 31 as Fright Night’s Family Day, giving families another way to experience the Halloween attraction without attending one of the regular nighttime events.
Two Rivers Is Just Outside Sydney
Two Rivers Wildlife Park is located at 4581 Grand Mira North Road in Huntington, about 28 kilometres outside Sydney.
The park sits along the Mira River and normally offers everything from wildlife viewing and a petting zoo to hiking trails, wagon rides, camping and outdoor recreation.
But for a handful of nights this October, those Cape Breton woods are becoming something completely different.
Twenty-five haunted scenes, a cursed carnival and a walk through a dark forest?
This might be one of the creepiest additions to your Nova Scotia fall bucket list.
