If soaking in a private hot tub, sleeping in a cozy Mongolian yurt and waking up surrounded by nature sounds like your kind of getaway, there’s a hidden retreat in Prince Edward Island worth adding to your bucket list.
Nature Space Resort & Retreat Centre in St. Peters Harbour is a four-season glamping and wellness resort tucked away on 16 acres along an ocean lagoon on PEI’s North Shore.
And unlike many glamping spots that close once summer ends, this one is open year-round.
Think authentic Mongolian yurts, private hot tubs, wood-burning stoves, forest trails, cedar saunas, kayaking and a massive yoga yurt, all surrounded by nature.
You Can Sleep In An Authentic Mongolian Yurt
The biggest draw at Nature Space is its collection of four colourful Mongolian yurts.
There’s the orange Fox Yurt, red Snowshoe Hare Yurt, deep blue Kingfisher Yurt and bright blue Blue Jay Yurt. Each sleeps up to three adults or a family of four, with a queen bed and two twin beds.
And these aren’t exactly roughing-it accommodations.
Each yurt has its own private hot tub, along with a wood-burning stove, air conditioning, cozy furnishings, a mini fridge and coffee and tea station.
One thing to know before booking is that the yurts don’t have their own bathrooms, kitchens or running water. Instead, guests have access to private shared washroom spaces and two full kitchens inside the resort’s communal Bee Hive building.
Imagine Staying Here In The Fall
This might be an especially dreamy spot once the temperatures start dropping.
Nature Space operates throughout all four seasons, and Tourism PEI currently lists its season as January 1 through December 31.
So you could spend a crisp fall day wandering through the forest before climbing into your private hot tub under the stars, then head inside your yurt and warm up beside the wood stove.
The resort is also running several themed retreats during fall 2026, including Fall Chakra Reset from September 18 to 20, Embrace the Harvest from September 30 to October 2 and Witchy Women Weekend from October 23 to 25. Availability for some of these retreats is already extremely limited or sold out.
There’s Basically A DIY Nordic Spa In The Forest
The yurts are only part of the experience.
Nature Space has what it calls a DIY Nordic Spa, with cedar saunas, cold-water features, a fire pit, outdoor fireplace and relaxation areas.
Guests can also book a sauna experience that includes a pre-warmed sauna, aromatherapy and refreshments afterward.
There are walking trails through the property, a meditation labyrinth and a 30-foot Mongolian yoga yurt called the Great Blue Heron, which is used for yoga, meditation, sound baths and even weddings.
You Can Kayak Right From The Resort
Nature Space sits beside an ocean lagoon, and guests have access to a dock where they can take in the sunset or stargaze.
The property also offers nature and kayaking experiences. Tourism PEI highlights activities including kayak tours and wellness offerings, while past experiences at the resort have included Kayoga and nature tours.
That makes this much more than somewhere to sleep. You could potentially spend an entire getaway right on the property.
There Are Cabins And A Loft Too
If yurts aren’t quite your thing, there are other options.
The Eagle’s Nest Loft is a self-contained one-bedroom apartment above the boathouse with a full kitchen, bathroom and its own hot tub. Its elevated deck overlooks the forest, garden and water and is promoted as one of the property’s best stargazing spots.
There’s also the two-bedroom GlowBug Cottage, surrounded by forest and trails, with a full kitchen, bathroom and screened-in porch.
For something even more rustic, the Osprey Tent is a solar-powered prospector-style tent with a queen bed and single bed.
And You Can Bring Your Dog
There are even options for a getaway with your pup.
The Blue Jay Yurt and GlowBug Cottage are both dog-friendly and allow up to two dogs for an additional fee. The resort says its dog stay package includes things like dog beds, food and water bowls and homemade treats.
Nature Space Resort In PEI
Nature Space opened in 2020 and added its yurt accommodations in 2021. Today, the family-run property combines glamping, nature experiences and wellness retreats into one pretty unique PEI escape.
You’ll find it at 631 St. Peters Harbour Road in St. Peters Harbour, along PEI’s Points East Coastal Drive.
And considering you can stay here during fall and winter too, this might be one of the coziest ways to experience PEI outside of its traditional summer season.
