These 10 PEI Small Businesses Were Voted Local Favourites This September

Prince Edward Island may be small, but it has an incredible collection of locally owned businesses, from bakeries and chocolate shops to pottery studios, cafés, markets and Island makers.

Throughout September, we asked Good Day PEI followers to vote for their favourite local businesses by tagging them in the comments.

And Islanders definitely showed up for their favourites.

Dozens of businesses from across PEI were nominated, with some names appearing again and again. After tallying the votes, these are 10 of the businesses that received the most love from locals.

Seagull Bakery & Café received more nominations than any other business in our September vote.

Followers repeatedly tagged the bakery in the comments, making it the most recommended business in this round of voting.

2. Anne’s Chocolates

Anne’s Chocolates was another huge favourite among voters and finished just behind Seagull Bakery & Café.

It joins a long list of independent Island businesses that received plenty of love from the Good Day PEI community.

PEI Has No Shortage Of Amazing Local Businesses

One thing became very clear while counting the votes: narrowing this list down to 10 wasn’t easy.

Several businesses finished with the same number of nominations, while dozens more received votes from Islanders who wanted to give their favourite local spots some recognition.

Other frequently nominated businesses included Ellen Burge Clay Impressions, Kettle Grove, Canoe Cove Honey, Pie Oh My, and others.

The results aren’t meant to be a scientific ranking of every business on PEI. They’re based entirely on nominations submitted by Good Day PEI followers during our September 2026 community vote.

And with so many businesses nominated, there are plenty more worth discovering across the Island.
