This New Brunswick Farm Basically Looks Like Fall Heaven

If pumpkins, farm animals, fresh-baked treats and colourful local produce sound like the perfect fall day trip, there’s a family-run market just outside Fredericton that basically has autumn covered.

Moxon’s Country Pumpkin in Maugerville is a farm market and bakery surrounded by farmland along the Saint John River.

Despite the name, it isn’t just about pumpkins.

Owners Eric and Gwen Moxon grow a wide variety of fresh produce, operate an onsite bakery and market, and have created an outdoor area with a playground and plenty of furry and feathered farm animals for visitors to see.

And once pumpkin season arrives, it becomes an especially fitting stop for a New Brunswick fall road trip.

Moxon’s Country Pumpkin Is A Fall Road Trip Destination

Moxon’s Country Pumpkin is located at 911 Route 105 in Maugerville, not far from Fredericton.

The seasonal business is open from May through December, which means it stays open throughout the entire fall season and well into holiday shopping season.

For 2026, Moxon’s says it is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., with its season running until December 23 at 2 p.m.

Fall is especially appealing because the farm’s seasonal harvest starts filling the market while pumpkins become a major attraction.

Tourism New Brunswick currently includes Moxon’s Country Pumpkin among its recommended destinations for pumpkin picking in New Brunswick this fall.

You Can Pick Out Your Perfect Fall Pumpkin

It’s hard to have a business called Country Pumpkin without taking pumpkin season seriously.

Tourism New Brunswick features Moxon’s alongside some of the province’s other popular farms and pumpkin patches as a place to find your Halloween pumpkin.

Whether you’re looking for one to carve into a jack-o’-lantern, decorate your front step or turn into something homemade, fall is the time to visit.

And there’s something considerably more fun about picking out a pumpkin at an actual farm than grabbing one during a regular grocery run.

There’s A Farm Market Filled With Local Produce

The pumpkins are only part of what you’ll find.

Moxon’s grows many varieties of its own fresh produce and sells them through the farm market.

The market also carries products from other New Brunswick farms and food producers when available.

Current products listed by Moxon’s include goods from Apple Man Farm, Covered Bridge Haskap Orchard, Early Bird Eggs, local honey producers, maple syrup, blueberries and several New Brunswick food companies.

That makes it a great place to stock up on locally grown food while supporting multiple producers in one stop.

And fall might be one of the best times to see just how much New Brunswick farms produce.

Tourism New Brunswick specifically highlights roadside markets, seasonal harvests, corn mazes and pumpkin patches as some of the experiences that make fall road trips around the province special.

There’s An Onsite Bakery Too

Come for the pumpkins, leave with baked goods.

Moxon’s operates its own bakery alongside the farm market, giving visitors another very convincing reason to stop.

The business describes itself as Moxon’s Country Pumpkin Farm Fresh Produce & Bakery, with baked goods available alongside its produce and local products.

If your ideal fall afternoon involves driving through colourful New Brunswick countryside and coming home with pumpkins, vegetables and something freshly baked, this place checks a lot of boxes.

Because bakery selections can change, it’s worth checking Moxon’s current social pages before visiting if there’s something specific you’re hoping to try.

There Are Farm Animals Outside

This isn’t just a quick roadside produce stand either.

Outside the market, Moxon’s has furry and feathered farm animals for visitors to see, along with a playground for kids.

That makes it an easy stop for families looking for a fall outing that involves more than simply shopping.

You can grab your pumpkins and local produce, visit the animals and let the kids spend some time outside before continuing your road trip.

It’s Pet Friendly Too

Another bonus for anyone travelling with their dog: Moxon’s Country Pumpkin says it is pet friendly.

Pet policies can sometimes vary depending on specific areas of a farm or food business, so visitors should follow any posted rules when they arrive.

But for people planning a fall drive with their dog, it’s another reason to add the farm to the route.

It’s An Easy Fall Day Trip From Fredericton

Maugerville stretches along the Saint John River east of Fredericton, putting Moxon’s within easy reach of the city.

That makes it particularly convenient for a spontaneous September or October afternoon.

You could grab coffee in Fredericton, drive out through the countryside, stop at Moxon’s for pumpkins and baked goods, visit the animals and then continue exploring the river valley.

Tourism New Brunswick is actively promoting fall road trips around the province as a way to experience colourful foliage, farm markets and the autumn harvest.

Moxon’s fits almost perfectly into that kind of trip.

This New Brunswick Farm Basically Has Everything You Want For Fall

There’s something about visiting a farm market in September or October that instantly makes it feel like fall.

At Moxon’s, you can shop for locally grown produce, choose your Halloween pumpkins, pick up something from the bakery, browse New Brunswick-made food products and visit the farm animals outside.

And unlike a one-weekend fall festival, Moxon’s stays open throughout the season.

If you’re building a New Brunswick fall bucket list, this little country market outside Fredericton deserves a spot.
