Pickle lovers, this might be the most important event on your October calendar.
Picklefest Canada is officially making its Prince Edward Island debut this weekend, bringing an entire festival dedicated to pickles, fermented foods and seriously creative flavours to Charlottetown.
The festival takes over PEI Brewing Company on Saturday, October 10, with more than 40 vendors, live music and plenty of unusual things to try.
And yes, this is an entire festival dedicated to all things pickled and fermented.
Picklefest Is Coming To PEI For The First Time
Picklefest has been making its way across Canada in 2026, with stops in cities including Victoria, Calgary, Vancouver and Toronto.
Now the festival is heading all the way east for its first-ever event in Prince Edward Island.
Charlottetown is one of six Canadian cities included on Picklefest’s 2026 tour, with the PEI event happening at PEI Brewing Company on October 10.
The festival is a celebration of pickled and fermented foods, bringing together makers and food lovers to try flavours they might not encounter every day.
There Will Be More Than 20 Vendors
Come hungry because Picklefest PEI is expected to feature more than 20 vendors.
Visitors can expect all kinds of pickled and fermented creations, including classic pickles, kimchi, kombucha, hot sauce and plenty of snacks.
And things get even more interesting with pickle beer also expected to be part of the mix.
There will also be live music throughout the festival.
Food and drinks from vendors are purchased separately from admission, and particularly popular items could sell out, so getting there earlier might be a good idea.
It’s Part Of A Cross-Canada Pickle Tour
PEI isn’t getting a small one-off version of the event either.
Picklefest’s 2026 tour stretches from Victoria on the West Coast all the way to Charlottetown on the East Coast.
The festival was founded by cousins Adin and Eli Wener, whose love of pickles and family food traditions eventually grew into a larger celebration of pickling, fermentation and creative food.
After Charlottetown, the 2026 tour has one more scheduled stop in Edmonton on October 17.
The Festival Is Happening This Saturday
Picklefest PEI takes place at PEI Brewing Company at 96 Kensington Road in Charlottetown on Saturday, October 10.
General admission begins at 11 a.m., while VIP Early Access allows ticket holders to enter at 10 a.m. before general admission.
The event is all ages, and children 12 and under can enter free with a ticket-holding guardian.
So if pickles are basically their own food group in your house, this might be one of the most unusual food festivals to add to your PEI fall plans.
