You Can Paint A Halloween Cake Like A Canvas In Saint John This October

If you can’t decide between doing something creative and eating dessert, a Halloween event coming to Saint John this October lets you do both.

Artisserie is hosting a Cake Canvas Halloween Special at Market Square on October 27, where participants will decorate cake as if it were an actual painting.

Instead of paint, you’ll use buttercream and frosting.

Instead of a canvas, you’ll get a piece of cake.

And when you’re finished creating your Halloween masterpiece, you can take it home and eat it.

Your Cake Becomes The Canvas

The concept behind Cake Canvas is pretty simple.

Each participant receives a piece of cake that becomes their blank canvas.

You’ll then use different buttercream and frosting as your “paint” to create a Halloween-inspired design directly on the cake.

There will also be extra sprinkles and Halloween stencils available for anyone who wants a little help creating their design.

And you don’t need any cake decorating or art experience to participate.

Artisserie will be there throughout the event to offer guidance and help as everyone works on their creations.

Everything You Need Is Included

The event includes the cake, buttercream, frosting, sprinkles, decorating tools and optional Halloween stencils.

You’ll also get a take-home box for your finished creation.

It’s designed as a free-flow event, meaning everyone can decorate at their own pace instead of trying to follow along with a complicated cake decorating class.

So whether you want to carefully create a Halloween masterpiece or just cover your cake in frosting and sprinkles, you can make it your own.

It’s Only $10

The Cake Canvas Halloween Special costs $10 per person, making it a pretty affordable Halloween activity.

The event takes place on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, just a few days before Halloween.

It’s being held at the Market Square Atrium in Uptown Saint John.

The Saint John events calendar currently lists the event from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., while the event’s registration listing gives a 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. window, so participants should confirm the final end time when registering.

Add This To Your Halloween Bucket List

There are plenty of haunted houses and costume parties happening around New Brunswick in October, but painting a cake with buttercream might be one of the more unusual ways to celebrate Halloween.

Plus, unlike a regular painting night, you get to eat your artwork afterward.
