This Popular CBC Crime Drama Is Filming Another Season In Newfoundland

One of Canada’s most popular crime dramas is returning to Newfoundland for another season!

Saint-Pierre, the hit CBC television series starring Newfoundland actor Allan Hawco, is officially filming Season 3 in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, France.

The popular crime drama has gained a growing international audience thanks to its mysterious storylines, beautiful coastal scenery and unique setting just off Newfoundland’s coast.

And there’s even more exciting news for fans: the show’s first season is now available on Netflix Canada!

Saint-Pierre Season 3 Is Filming In Newfoundland

Production on Season 3 began in July 2026, with filming taking place around St. John’s and the nearby French islands of Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon.

Filming is scheduled to continue until November 26, 2026.

The upcoming season will feature 12 episodes, bringing viewers back to the dramatic North Atlantic setting that has become a signature part of the series.

What Is The TV Show Saint-Pierre About?

The series follows Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Inspector Donald Fitzpatrick, played by Allan Hawco, who is reassigned to Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon after getting into trouble back home.

There, he teams up with Deputy Chief Geneviève Archambault, played by French actress Joséphine Jobert.

Together, the unlikely partners investigate crimes on the picturesque French islands, where beautiful scenery hides some surprisingly dark mysteries.

The series combines crime, suspense and humour with incredible views of the North Atlantic.

Where Is Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon?

One of the most interesting things about the series is that Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon is a real destination!

Located just off the southern coast of Newfoundland, the islands are actually part of France.

Visitors can experience French cafés, colourful coastal streets, bakeries and European culture without travelling across the Atlantic Ocean.

The islands are accessible by ferry from Fortune, Newfoundland, making them a unique getaway for anyone exploring Atlantic Canada.

New Cast Members Are Joining Season 3

Season 3 will welcome two new cast members.

French-Moroccan actor Assaad Bouab, known for Call My Agent!, joins the series as Pascal Lalonde, an experienced police officer from mainland France.

Canadian actress Caroline Dhavernas, known for Hannibal and Mary Kills People, will play Victoria Peters, a businesswoman with plans to transform Saint-Pierre into a major tourist destination.

Allan Hawco and Joséphine Jobert will return in their leading roles.

When Will Saint-Pierre Season 3 Be Released?

Season 3 is expected to premiere on CBC and CBC Gem in winter 2027.

An exact premiere date has not yet been announced.

In the meantime, viewers can stream the first two seasons on CBC Gem.

Season 1 is also available on Netflix Canada, giving new viewers another way to discover the series.

With another season underway and Newfoundland’s beautiful coastline once again appearing on television, Saint-Pierre continues to bring international attention to Atlantic Canada.

Have you watched Saint-Pierre yet? And did you know the French islands featured in the show are located just off Newfoundland?
